Compact QUAD the answer to your requirement for flexible HD/SD AND Balanced audio Monitoring in a compact unit, ideal for Flyaway Kit, Edit Suites and CARs, which may be used either free-standing or racked in a 1/2 width 3U "WFM" chassis frame to provide comprehensive and cost effective monitoring facilities.
A major plus with the Compact-Quad, is the additional 4 Channel ANALOGUE Group with rear panel XLR input. All four channels of the “Touch Latch” selected Group are simultaneously metered with miniature PPMs, whilst Ch1/2 + Ch3/4 audio PHASE is continuously monitored by our popular "GO/NO GO" logic. This "Traffic light" concept is a major feature of all Murraypro meters using discrete metering, with PHASE and PEAK Levels policed on LEDs. Constantly monitoring the selected input Group, our ever alert GREEN Phase LED or Peak LEDs will snap to RED immediately any trouble is detected, saving vital time and much expense later!
Compact QUAD is normally supplied for free standing operation in it's smart slip on sleeve-cover, which facilitates totally self-contained stereo speaker monitoring, surprising on equipment of this size. Two integral 'broad-side' speakers provide 8+8 Watt stereo monitoring, and hinged "acoustic reflectors" direct the sound forward to the Listener for Higher Fi; a major bonus that may obviate the requirement for the separate installation of a pair of powered monitor loudspeakers. These robust reflectors then fold flat against the side for storage or transportation, a neat feature appreciated by those used to repeated ‘Location Build-ups’.
When Compact QUAD is used rack mounted, it continues to provide integral speaker monitoring. Racking limitations however restrict this to a single 8W front facing speaker driven from a monaural-mix channel, with independent Left or Right Channel muting.
When jacked, the (level-limited) Headphone socket mutes the loudspeaker(s) drive to provide high quality private stereo monitoring.
In addition to the equalised and reclocked HD/SD SDI loop-put, a useful feature of the Compact-QUAD is the rear panel 4 Ch balanced XLR OPs of the selected Group. The front panel volume control is fully buffered, and a balanced stereo analogue OP is also available at the rear panel on XLR3s, for use with external powered loudspeakers if required. A bonus feature is the CVBS output of a 16 channel audio level histogram for utility use elsewhere.
