Low latency 800x480 Hi Res, LCD
130’X & 110’Y viewing enables these high resolution 8” 800x480 pixel LCDs to produce clean and bright images which are specially suitable for close viewing over long periods; unlike monitors with older low resolution panels. The design of the video board has been optimised to ensure that the signal experiences an absolute minimum of processing delay, ensuring that "Lip-Sync" issues do not occur. The tilting front ensures the optimum viewing angle, and is ideal for compact Flyaway kit, S/ENG vehicles and TV Centres, each benefitting from the increased resolution.
Fast, front panel switching between SDI & CVBS video inputs is standard, and there is even a mode to auto-detect, and select, an input when present. Fully buffered, equalised and reclocked HD/SD SDI "looped input" signal is available on the rear panel for use by other equipment, whilst the CVBS IPs offer a classic passive high impedance "ohmic loop-through" feature.
Switching between HD & SD SDI sources is transparent, whilst the CVBS input will auto switch between PAL & NTSC. The EZ2-8.0HD briefly announces the detected standard of the selected source with an on-screen banner.
An integral Audio Bargraph utility is an important feature of the 17.5cm deep LCD monitor. Selection between Group 1, 2, 3 or 4 with BBC, Din, Nordic or VU scaling are available on easily accessable DIP switches, with Group 1 and the British PPM scaling enabled by default, when the on-screen Bar mode is selected.
Mains power is applied via an IEC 320 connector, and the conservatively rated 90~260Vac internal “universal” power supply totally eliminates external "wall warts". A locking 2.5mm low voltage input jack is provided for external battery power applications, whilst a whisper quiet fan ensures cool running under all operational conditions. Standard red Tally lamps are provided for each screen, but EZ2-8.0 HD may optionally be specifed with the R/Y/G Multicolour option.
